There are few better things than eating a perfectly grilled steak for dinner.

Well, a nice marinade would certainly make it better, right?

It’s no secret that meat tastes better when it’s seasoned and soaked in a delicious sauce. Pre-made marinades are super easy to use.  They also bring out the natural flavors of the meat so your meal tastes better.

So what’s the problem?

We’ve all probably heard that if food tastes really good, it’s probably not that good for you.  For starters, a lot of pre-made marinades are loaded with sugar and high in calories. The few that are sugar-free don’t taste very good.  So you should probably avoid pre-soaking meats in order to cut calories and fat, right?


Home-made marinades may seem difficult to make.  But a lot of people just may not know where to start when it comes to making one. The good news is there are tons of recipes out there that are low in sugar, completely healthy, and totally tasty.

So how do you do it?

Basically, if you can whisk an egg, you can make a marinade.  Prepping takes roughly five to ten minutes. After that, soak for as little as two hours. Then you’ll be ready to grill, bake, or broil any meat you want without worrying about expanding your waistline.
